How to introduce yourself with video

Video intros are an amazing way to get attention. They’re an awesome sales tool and perfect for following up phone calls and email introductions. They can also be a great tool for job seekers who want to stand out from other applicants.

Five top tips for video introductions:

  • Keep them short and sweet. Your goal is to deliver a 30 second elevator pitch to get the viewer interested, not take them through everything in detail.
  • Explain your services clearly. After watching the video, the viewer should clearly understand what services you’re offering and how they might be able to apply them to their business.
  • Personalise your videos. A video that includes the viewers name is much more likely to be watched and more carefully considered.
  • Have a clear call to action or next step. Ask for a video call or a coffee catch up and follow them up to arrange.
  • Don’t skimp on production quality. Whilst these videos don’t need a large scale production you are still representing yourself and business. At the very least, invest in a good mic and a nice light source and make sure you pick a nice backdrop to film infant of.
